Hi Everyone,
This announcement was forwarded to me, and I’m passing it on to you wonderful artists out there:
Owl Creek Media Ltd. is a new small publisher specializing in seasonal and holiday series books for K-12, and non-series seasonal based books for adults.
They currently need 3 artists who normally paint or draw at least 3 days a week, every week. Painting 24-34 paintings in 3-6 months is not something you just start doing. PLEASE, credits are not a top priority, but someone who regularly paints ALREADY is. If you are 30 and have completed about 100 pieces of work, then this is too much work for you.
Owl Creek is dedicated to the best for kids and seek like minded individuals who take book production seriously. They pay 5% of retail sales to start and give their artists a 35% discount, so they can buy books and resell them to increase their earnings. Owl Creek prefers someone with public speaking skills who has the time and ability to go to schools and speak to the kids about art and sell their books while there.
Fees of $300-$1,000 a day are typical for those who can do this well.
Owl Creek also needs someone willing to stick with them through 3-12 books on each series. If you do well and sales are good, you will be given first chance to audition for other projects in the future. They need good painters and good pen and ink artists. They will provide you with a company e-mail, promotion on our web site as well as at trade shows, and assist you in starting a school visit career. If you want to be artist full time as your career, they want to talk to you. A positive attitude, a professional appearance (no visible tattoos or body piercings, clean) and a genuine kindness toward children are all mandatory.
Once again, Owl Creek is a small, friendly company, founded by a former Scholastic Consultant and Parent Involvement Coordinator, and they expect to work with individuals with a professional attitude toward everyone.
If this sounds like you, please e-mail Owl Creek Media Ltd. with info on where they can view your work. Please do not e-mail art files.
Thank you.
