Young Southern Student Writer Poetry and Prose Contest

Hi Everybody,

The Arts & Education Council (AEC), a non-profit organization that began in 1952 as the Adult Education Council,  is hosting its annual Poetry and Prose contest for young southern student writers!

Last year, the AEC received over 3,400 entries for the 2007 competition.  The winners, along with their families and teachers were invited to attend the awards ceremony on March 27, 2007, at the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

DEADLINE:  December 12, 2007

LIMITS:  1,500 words for prose

                    50 lines for poetry

PRIZE:  Winners will be presented medals at a ceremony to be held in March 2008. These award-winning pieces of writing will also be published in a booklet, with one copy to be given to the student and one copy to the teacher.For more information and complete details, please click on the following link:
